I set up a RAIDFrame from https://high-rely.com/products/ for a client quite a few years ago, it’s still working well. They don’t appear to offer that device anymore but maybe they have something comparable.

These days you can also use smaller enclosures like 4-5 disk but use enormous disks like 12-14tb.

I've thought about this, but with those disks you're getting into a regime where rebuild time on a failed RAID is comparable to average time between failures
