Asking if you can sync Pinboard bookmarks with Chrome or Firefox is like asking if you can keep sinning once you come to Christ. Repent!

Framing the choice as "bookmarks live in the browser" vs. "bookmarks live on a website" has done more than anything to keep complexity down and make it possible to run Pinboard by myself, which in turn keeps the cost down

I am most certainly an outlier, but FWIW: Once upon a time, I worked on http://del.icio.us for Yahoo! We had an add-on that sync'd bookmarks from the site to the local browser. I had 30,000 bookmarks on http://del.icio.us at the time. The results were not pretty.
