Facebook's commitment to ideological diversity is not empty rhetoric—they back it up by donating to some of the most reprehensible right-wing politicians in America
Here's Facebook giving $2500 to Mimi Walters last month. Walters is defending a Republican seat in one of the most competitive races in California. If you work at Facebook, last month's filing contains a list of everyone who donated to the PAC. The people paying $192.31 have payroll auto-deduction set up. Get in touch with them and make sure they know how their money is being spent! http://docquery.fec.gov/pdf/729/201810059124378729/201810059124378729.pdf …
Just as an extra little twist of legal corruption, the guy who is in charge of US public policy at Facebook and signs these FEC filings is Kevin Martin, formerly chairman of... the FCC. (Facebook's previous head of PAC bribery was also their chief privacy officer, Erin Egan)
I’m hoping we vote out Doug Collins next month in GA. Are they at least balancing this out with equal donations to democratic parties? Doesn’t cover over what they’re doing, but in their eyes it might be “fair and balanced”
not bribery, tho
