That library will get you any book you want through the Alaska State Library's Interlibrary Loan System, who will fly it north for you FOR FREE so you can read it in their warm reading room, or at home. Libraries, if they didn't already exist, would sound like a naive fantasy.

So my question is—what other things are we missing out on because they sound like a naive, crazy fantasy? Wikipedia sounded like that to me in 2000. Clean, punctual, comfortable and fast commuter rail sounded like that until I visited Japan.

What is cost to bring high speed Internet to the state of Alaska? What % of oil revenues should have been allocated to infrastructure in AK the past 45 yrs? What % should have been allocated to high speed Internet? Going forward, what % should be allocated to high speed Internet?

A good point of reference for what Alaska could be like is northern Norway.
