The critique here is that we have a disproportionate amount of power as software engineers and we should put our money where our mouths are. Take a stand, not in some quiet way that serves our employers but loudly in a way that implicates them and encourages reform.

Sorry, I don't buy it. The fact is tech workers haven't achieved any tangible goal in two years despite the incredible potential power they wield over their employers. They are, however, world champion rationalizers.
