Whoever controls the House controls the census*, which will determine what party will be in power to stack the courts for the next ten years. (*the census is run by the Dept. of Commerce, but the House has broad powers of oversight and investigation it can use to protect it)

State legislative races are even more important. The Republican majority in congress is in large part due to the huge gains made in 2010 in those chambers. And control of state legislatures = control of redistricting after the census.
