The biggest flaw with the Clinton email server story was that there was an outside referent: those emails actually existed somewhere. The current media obsession with who might get fired or is thinking of resigning brings us closer to the perpetuum mobile of political clickbait.

One solution is to create a prize for political "process" journalism modeled on the Pulitzer. The winner wears an elegant shock collar that goes off every thirty seconds. I propose we call it the "Cillizza"
