On a national level, there is no compelling reason people have to believe that things will be different with Democrats in power. Team Blue or Team Red change jerseys, and life goes on like before. This deep disconnection and cynicism about politics, not Trump, are our enemy.

I've been pushing the Great Slate so hard not because I think there will be a blue wave, but because I think we might eke out a majority if we back some people from outside the broken political system who know how to connect with voters unreachable to establishment Democrats.

A big problem in this country is that the things that are happening aren’t immediately visible to your normal American. The seeds of an economic depression are being planted, rule of law is also vulnerable, and risk of war rising. The things being done now take time to manifest.

Those things just aren't on the radar where I live. If Dems want to win they must address what is: ppl have little money and are priced out of health care. That's what the WV teachers' strike was about. Corporate Dems still bet they can ignore those issues. They're wrong.
