So it'll be interesting if the Partisanization Of Everything begins to extend to corporations who currently donate to both parties as a matter of course.

(I am not sure if that applies to In-N-Out, I mean. It may not; it just made me think of it.)

Let's see, the McDonald's PAC has consistently given a bit more to Republicans...pic.twitter.com/2wEKkifBJ9

Pretty much every corporate PAC takes care to split donations evenly, but the specific ones are interesting. Land O'Lake and Intel both donate to Steve King, that's a pretty fun one. I recommend

I also think it's a cop-out to argue that an even split makes things politically okay. If I give $50 each to the KKK and NAACP, I have no right to be angry when people focus on the former. The specific candidates who get this money are important.

I didn't say it made things okay...but corporations have probably acted under the belief that it did, as normal operating procedure.

I wasn't accusing you of making that argument, just trying to head it off. From what I understand in the tech world at least, the decisions of who to give to are very divorced from the rest of the company. I doubt Zuckerberg or Facebook PR even knew about their donation to Nunes

Honestly, I think a bunch of this corporate political giving runs on pure autopilot. The people doing the giving and those raising the funds are both DC swamp creatures who specialize in this and are ignored by everyone else

Yeah the discourse around fundraising is very crude. Some people act like Bobby Rush is in the pocket of Big Donut because they gave him a thousand bucks (like he even needs it or notices).
