Many of you have seen that California is in the midst of a nightmarish fire season. The President's response has been to tweet phantasmagorical advice on Twitter to stop letting our water drain into the ocean. Our Republican congressmen here have been nearly as useless.

Doug LaMalfa in CA-1 and Tom McClintock in CA-4 have voted repeatedly to cut Federal spending on fire prevention. LaMalfa blames the National Fire Service, whose budget he gutted, for the Carr fire raging in his district. Both deny the possibility of human-made climate change

California is burning, and we need representatives who will face reality, not traffic in fantasy. So it is a huge pleasure tonight to welcome our next candidate, Jessica Morse (
@Morse4America) , to the Great Slate! https://www.morse4congress.com pic.twitter.com/F4UpVB9WPo

Morse's opponent, Tom McClintock, is a do-nothing Congressman even by Republican standards. Not only does he not live in his own district, but his legislative record over 9 years comprises four bills—two to rename a post office, and one to rename a mountain. CA-4 deserves better.

Many of you who read my Tweeter have visited Morse's district to hike, ski, or lay motionless and hung over in a Tahoe cabin. You know how lovely it is, and how fragile that beauty is. Please welcome and support Jessica on the Great Slate!https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …

Here's McClintock on 6/19: "There is a simple protection from being separated from one’s family: don’t break the law. Family separation is not the President’s fault for arresting and prosecuting lawbreakers. It is the lawbreakers’ fault for breaking the laws in the first place."

The bottom line is, if we want any of these things to change, we have to fight for it. There are only 89 days in which your time and money can make a difference for this election. Please dig deep to help Jessica and the rest of the Great Slate tonight.https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …

Thanks so much for the thread about our terrible Representative. He's as terrible as he sounds. Luckily we have a fantastic candidate in
@Morse4America. We're working hard in#CA04 to get her elected to be our voice in DC!0 replies 3 retweets 15 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
