They're more like the gold in the ocean—theoretically worth a fortune, but impossible to get at. What was the last American political campaign that mobilized a significant number of non-voters? Honest question.

Would most of those red-district Democrats just say to move to center? If so, aren’t we just in the same place as every election?
-
They would not! The Blue Dog vs. progressive and establishment vs. outsider debates are alive and well in those districts.

You're not wrong. This is the job the
@DCCC is supposed to be doing, but fails *miserably* bc they are more concerned with advancing the careers of the inner cabal than they are with the success of their platform or their constituents. -
The same politics don't work for every state. Dems in "swing" states need to understand that their constituents don't like the establishment party platform. What we can learn from @Ocasio2018 is the power of grassroots activism & that it's possible to take on the establishment.

I would agree that's a swing voter *in her district*. Likewise, the likes of Larry Krasner, etc. should only be used as templates for changing urban 1 party districts.

Did Trump turn out non-voters? Only one I can think of. Yeah, non-voters are fools gold. Realists focus on converting Trump voters to non-voters or to Dem voters.

Hot take: there are different populations of swing voters with different concerns. Those in deep red districts are not any more (nor less) important or representative than others.
-
The swing voters that we need to understand right now are the ones in districts that can help win the house, not in deep red districts or the Bronx.
