I see capitalism more narrowly, as a workable economic engine for resource allocation and harnessing human greed and competitiveness in a constructive way. How that is regulated and managed is an important matter. I suspect we feel the same way about the 'capitalist worldview'

We differ on a few points, I think, but that doesn't really matter. More to my point is that when (non-tankie) leftists talk about "socialism" vs. "capitalism", they are usually talking about political philosophies, not america vs. the USSR.

I understand, but I think that to downplay the terrible history of attempts to instantiate that political philosophy is a crime against the people who suffered and died as a result
