If you're a programmer and want to do something politically powerful, write a tool that takes FEC bulk data and dereferences the chains of PAC-to-PAC donations used to obfuscate giving, so we can see clearly which corporations donated to which candidate.
I think you can prune out anything that goes through the RNCC or state party committees. The paths I think are most interesting are GOOGLE -> PAC1 -> PAC2 [...] -> CANDIDATE, where the intermediaries are non-party PACs obfuscating what is a fairly direct donation

Yeah, I tried, but I think the coding of entity types is also erroneous. I'll take a look if I have time later, but the data seems very messy!
