A big development on the Great Slate—the Cook Political Report has moved Maine's second Congressional District from "Leans Republican" to "Toss-up" largely on the strength of Jared Golden's candidacy.https://www.cookpolitical.com/analysis/house/maine-house/me-02-poliquin-moves-lean-republican-toss …

The biggest obstacle to winning here is Poliquin's great wealth—the former fund manager has millions of dollars in cash on hand, and can raise millions more. So how much can we raise for Golden? We're within reach of taking this house seat!https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …

If you gave to the Great Slate in the primaries, you helped make this district competitive! Golden's well-funded primary opponent was a Portland-based environmentalist trust fund kid running a vanity campaign. Poliquin would have obliterated him.

In further good news, Cook has moved
@RepDMB's district (CO-3) from "Solid Republican" to "Likely Republican". I think their analysis is off (no one anywhere wants a 'Blue Dog' Democrat), but these rankings carry a lot of weight with donors and endorsers https://www.cookpolitical.com/analysis/house/house-overview/house-ratings-changes-10-districts-move-mostly-democrats-direction …1 reply 3 retweets 5 likesShow this thread -
The bottom line is, all the Great Slate races will be called long shots until the moment the candidates win, when their victory will retrospectively be called inevitable. But politics isn't weather; we can change it by funding good people fighting hard:https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …
