This line of argument really bugs me. Not only does it violate the presumption of innocence, but the founders anticipated this very conflict and solved it by vesting the power to impeach in the House and Senate. There will be other presidents than Trump.https://twitter.com/tribelaw/status/1012467963486752785 …

People have given insufficient thought to the consequences of a court trying to sanction a popular President who has no scruples about defying normal rules of conduct. This isn't high school, where the principal comes in and punishes the bullies. We need to win elections.

When Mitch McConnell stole a Supreme Court seat it was the end of fighting within the established rules. The GOP games the referee constantly but we’re supposed to sit back and play by the rules? THAT’S how we guarantee losing. This is life or death now.

I'm all for playing with elbows out and not letting ourselves get rolled. But this outcome of this fight will be decided in elections, not the courts, event the Supreme Court. Gaming the ref is *still* hoping that the rules will save us, when they won't. Only power will.

A vast number voted not for him, but against Clinton.
