Just called the @aclu to increase my monthly donation amount (which for some reason is hard to do online). I guess it's a a good sign that that department is so busy right now you just get voicemail.

Seriously, it would be great if they had a way to update this easily online (you can create a new monthly donation online, but not update an existing one), but the bright side is that the office that handles this appears to be completely swamped this week. Keep calling!

Replying to @mattblaze @ACLU
I would urge you to donate to the state-level ACLUs rather than the mother ship, if you aren't doing so already. The national org is flush past the point of having workable ideas for the money; the state orgs can really use the help!

I wonder why disbursing to the state-level orgs isn’t a workable plan.

They do kick in—they're spending $40M on state offices at the very least. But a lot of the money is also going to boondoggle stuff like 'People Power' because they've simply run out of viable ideas to spend on. A good problem to have!
