As pro-bear as I am, maybe we shouldn't be using this text to set immigration policy, stoning policy, whether to eat shellfish etc.

If you've never read the Bible, but have some nebulous respect for the book, you should really do it. Skip the "begats" and stay for the genocide, child rape, and relentless carnival of horrors in this deeply distressing book. YHWH is a bigger asshole than even Trump
