My district had an important Dem primary, in which I voted. Ballotpedia and news (in a major metro area) gave me essentially no useful info on who to vote for. If my wife hadn't watched debate and summarized, I'd have been guessing.

I think this is an unappreciated and key role for local journalism—summarizing races and candidate stances, especially for downballot stuff. I relied heavily on the SF press (what's left of it) and the Sacramento Bee to navigate the huge California ballot
