    Update: U.S. 60 is closed between Superior and Miami as fire crews work to contain the fire one mile south of the highway. After assessing infrared overflight images, the fire is now estimated at 34,463 acres with 0 percent containment.

    The has set up an evacuation center at Lee Kornegay Intermediate School at 4635 Railroad Ave in Miami and at Skyline High School in Mesa. Large animal sheltering is available at the Birch Stockyard at 2822 N Hwy 188 in Globe and the Apache Junction Rodeo grounds.

    The Town of Top of the World has been placed in "Go" status - Residents should evacuate immediately to a shelter or with family or friends outside of the affected area. Residents have the option of going to the Red Cross shelter at the Lee Kornegay Interm

    Firefighters will be conducting tactical firing operations on NFSR 230 to prevent the from spreading into Superior. Residents will see increased fire activity & smoke impacts. Superior is in "SET- Be Alert" status. Please monitor for alert updates.

    UPDATE: All lanes are now open.

    *CLOSURE* *PLEASE SHARE* US 60 is CLOSED in BOTH DIRECTIONS east of Superior due to a crash at milepost 228. EB is closed at milepost 227. WB is closed at milepost 231. Expect delays and seek an alternate route. There is no estimated time to reopen the highway.

    *BRUSH FIRE UPDATE* US 70 is now OPEN to light traffic (no semis) between Globe and Fort Thomas. SR 77 remains closed from Globe to Winkelman. SR 177 remains closed from Superior to Winkelman. There is no estimated time to reopen the highways.
