        @BillBaar Austria Hungary had the best uniforms. I think 1/2 the reason that A/H wanted to control northern Italy was to have Armani and Canali design their livery.

        During WW1 if you were at least 14 you could generally join as a combat soldier in some countries Austria-Hungary included combat soldiers as young as 12 are known.Most of the last known vets of WW1 were guys who joined at ages 15-17 including the last known AH veteran.
