I listened to Art Bell for the shadow people stories. Yes I figured they were just "stories". I thought they hired bad actors to come up with some of that stuff.

I assume you didn’t even need to pay. As a person that has worked at radio stations. The moment you offer a phone number the trouble is getting people to stop calling or making up a fanciful tale to get attention. Still was fun. Shadow people, monsters, cryptids, dimensions.

It got way worse when Art died and was replaced by Generic Non-Confrontational Libertarian. Art at least openly judged people for the really egregious stuff.

Yep, I remember listening to a few of his shows and there were stories about FEMA camps and underground tunnels of some deep state and nope.
