I think someone who makes maps as a hobby should be allowed to joke about the current state of maps without it being viewed as a personal attack

Imagine tweeting out your opinion after playing at a high level AND making maps just to have a guy who has 0 understanding of how the game works at the top level tell you that you don't do enough to "make maps better". Oh wait

You do know that I've actually made more money in professional mapmaking and discussing with GM/Pro level players than you have made money in playing at a pro level Warren? You guys really think I just sit here with my thumb up my ass diddling around in the editor? I'm insulted.

And Raze, how do you think Pro players would feel if I said this; "Man, looking at the current ro16 in WCS Winter makes me wish we could just get all the players back from WoL and watch them go at it instead" would that not insult the work and drive of the current WCS players?

That's an opinion. If someone said it to me, I'd ask them why they though that and then have a discussion about whether i did or didn't agree

Not agreeing that current maps share a ton of similarities is ok. Agreeing that they do, but not thinking something should be changed is also ok. I dont see a reason to flip out over either of those things, much less in a tweet that never mentioned you

Nothing in panda's tweet implies that's what he's talking about - the statement and sentiment of his tweet is constantly being thrown towards us, that our maps are never good, that old maps are always better, yet the players are never here to test or progress new maps.

I'm not sure if people have been quoting this tweet and using it to support their narrative. but I want to clarify that this tweet is a joke directed towards maps lately that look very similar to old maps ex: blueshift, king's cove.

this obviously isnt news to anyone, ive even seen other map makers make jokes about how some maps are very "inspired", and whether thats good or not is another discussion. The fact you took this the worst possible way says alot about your pov of players.
