Strategy wise I'm not sure. Depends on how you define it exactly. Game knowledge wise, yes it's just ridiculous that I'd still discover things after 2k hours but its happening.

Yeah there can’t even be a debate about game knowledge, but I am pretty sure strategy is more complex in dota as well. Drafts, Laning, farming, making space, wards, etc. also games last longer so there is more strategic decisions to be made. Also less gambles in dota

I'm sure when Serral is spiking up to 800 effective actions per minute in a critical point in a 1v1, while planning for the future... His brain scan would show less activity than a Dota player last hitting minions and deciding when to dive..... jesus FRACK!

Yes, you have to make strategic decisions faster in sc2 but that doesn't mean they are more complex. Also really well done on taking 2 extremes and comparing them to your advantage!!!!

I mean I think they're pretty different games, you could even argue however you define strategically that there is a large disparity between different heroes alone. The same can be said for races or even comps in sc2. Different positions will also require different skill-sets

StarCraft is imo a far more challenging game than dota as a steady race but dota fights can spike up pretty high mechanically too, outside of fights - Dota's slower pace & changing nature every thursday is of course more demanding mentally / strategically, there's always too much
