Gosh that’s probably the best way I could possibly summarize about 5 years of my career as a health physicist: Uranium isn’t as scary as you might think it is, but also please don’t eat it.

If you had undiagnosed / treated ADHD for a long time, know that they’ve always been a team. ADHD recruited anxiety hard. And depression. I’m so sorry, but ADHD owns the house so they’re here to stay.

I have an EXTREMELY important update to this tweet that I received via email from them today:

I don't actually take attendance so it wasn't an "excused" absence peruse, but I recorded the lecture so they wouldn't miss anything.

(the story was that there was a kitten trapped in their wheel well. When they went to get it out it got scared and somehow wiggled it's way INSIDE THE CAR. But it took them forever to find it, they could just hear it meowing and didn't want to hurt it by turning on the car)

Things I never thought I'd need to say as a professor but here we are: "Thank you for not murdering a kitten in an attempt to make it to class" I also came dangerously close to having to tell a student that my dog ate their homework this week.

Gen Z, I want to be clear, I mean that I was being sincere. We destroyed everything and you’re here making the rubble glow.

I’d like to thank Gen Z, from the bottom of my heart, for the fact that I can change the color of the lights on my new dehumidifier including a color cycle setting.

If anyone has any ideas of what she can do, we’re all ears but it seems like there’s no way forward for her here over a mistake their own employee made.

What especially frustrating is that, while I understand why the rule is something that is important, upon appeal they should really see that it was a typo not an attempt to do something malicious. But they simply won’t be bothered to look

So she’s facing a permanent Google ads ban over it and no one will respond to her. The specialist won’t respond to emails or calls. She tried to appeal with and they obviously don’t care about a single realtor’s business so they just sent her a form response.

After digging with the help of friends (she hired an ad specialist specifically b/c this isn’t her skill set), it seems that the specialist made a typo resulting in 2 different urls for the hover text & actual link which is majorly against the rules for obvious reasons

What I’ve learned is to never, ever, ever pay for a specialist. They made a mistake on my best friend’s account that resulted in her account being suspended (possibly PERMANENTLY), and won’t respond to her. She has no recourse. Please RT to save others from her fate.

A version of this I teach in my nuclear classes is that less than 50 years passed between the discovery of radioactivity (1896) and the detonation of the first nuclear weapon (1945).
