(1/2) People like to think of the solution to crime as being a single magic bullet...it's not. It has to be a multi facetted approach that involves letting law abiding citizens have access to guns, proper policing and implementation of laws.

(2/2) Intelligence sharing and cooperation between SAPS and community safety structures. Its the only way to reduce crime. Banning guns won't have the desired effect. It will have the opposite effect in fact.

If people are born to be criminals and, if no "law-abiding citizen" ever becomes a criminal, then, by all means, you may have a good point. You don't.

Agree. I think anyone who has a criminal record should have very seriously curtailed access to firearms, obviously with caveats.

The SA police is just a organ of the anc who employ a couple of thousand members with Criminal records? Infact they are not even a police force and nor can we call them a police service? Latest survey show that 70% of SA Citizens don't trust them? We have to protect ourselves!
