So you wouldn't accept that a psychopath could be good at understanding how they would be viewed by other people - they'd lack social intelligence?

Yeah, I think that psychopath stuff is fundamentally misguided. The psychopath lacks impetus (conatus, motivation) as a result of their moral insight, they don’t lack the moral insight per se. Similar of empathy, they have it, but just does not morally motivate them!

Well, that's going to be a contentious - albeit interesting - claim! I'm not sure we mean quite the same thing when we talk about empathy.
