I was left outside the exam room for an hour because my examiners were late. By that point I was irritated rather than nervous. Frankly, the whole thing was a bit of a farce. One of the examiners kept saying he thought the thesis could do with some Gramsci. I felt like saying, Don't be bloody ridiculous, but he was a Gramsci specialist, so I thought I'd best just nod along!
