Part of the reason it's important to criticize far left ideology is because it remains intellectually respectable in a way that's not true of far right ideology.

There aren't many - if any - fascist sociologists. There are plenty of sociologists who would self-identify as Marxist, despite the absolutely appalling history of Marxism as praxis.

Of course, as systems of thought fascism is reprehensible, whereas Marxism is just daft - but as praxis, in the real world, Marxism, in its various guises, has been an utter, immoral disaster.

Yes, I think the Marxist inversion of the Hegelianism, which posits that humans become themselves through the collective transformation of nature is reductionist, maybe not nonsense, but results in a fatally flawed conception of our species being.
