Brilliant feed this morning at a local pub—Irish sausages, white pudding, back bacon, eggs, hash browns, baked beans, grilled tomato & mushrooms, brown toast, & enough bog-dark tea to drown a carthorse. Now: laundry & update my database.

Last time I was in a cab in Rome, I engaged the driver in conversation about soccer, which resulted in him doing fascist salutes, while chanting "Lazio, Fascisti, Lazio, Fascisti"!

I was once driven to Chicago airport by a taxi driver who insisted on doing a puppet show - a little dragon! - while driving. He was doing 80 mph at the time. Looking backwards at us in the backseat! (Really!)
