Replies - I don't think people tend to be great at analogical reasoning. They don't find it easy to abstract, become fixated on the detail.

Yes. It crops up regularly in the classroom/students’ assignments, & I wonder a great deal about how to address it.

It’s no easy task without a dedicated course. (I’d really like to see Canadian unis make a logic/critical thinking course mandatory for all)
