Some people really seem to think that demonization doesn't lead to polarization when virtually the whole of history tells us that it does.

I get you might think demonization necessary or justified, but really you can't think it doesn't end up with entrenchment.
Human beings really don't need any encouragement to divide the world up into people like us & people like them. Just look at Tajfel's work.
