As an undergrad, definitely felt I didn't belong. First day, somebody asked me what I was reading, and I had no clue what they meant!

By the time I got to PhD, I'd come to the conclusion that most academics were idiots, and that if they could do it, so could I!

But I did the PhD mainly while working full-time in nursing, care work, etc., so these articles always get a bit of a side-eye from me.

Academics like to tell themselves that their working life is a challenge. But really, a lot of them have no bloody clue abt their privilege.
