      Odd because usually something that is overrated isn't thought by most people to be overrated (because it wouldn't be overrated if it were!).

      It only makes sense if you think that when assessing whether something is overrated you don't factor in the people who think it's crap.

      Right, so if most people agree that both books are crap, what we end up saying is the *most* overrated books are disliked by most people.

      Both books are thought to be overrated by most people. Just different people think it of each book. Doesn't alter the point though.
