Still don't understand why there wasn't a shift to the status quo. There should have been! Unless polls were wrong all along?

I think some people must have seen it as a protest vote & didn’t entertain the possibility of it actually happening

Yes, I've seen that mooted this morning. If it didn't seem "real", then that would undercut the shift. Still a surprise, though!
