Mind you, in evolutionary terms, it's possibly a peacock display: "I'm so bloody cool, there's no risk I'm going to lose any followers."
Very odd people use the threat of "unfriending" or "blocking" as a political weapon. I'd just hemorrhage followers if I tried it!
