Periodic reminder: if you see people claim words such as "racism" & "sexism" have fixed, uncontested sociological meanings - it's NOT true.
There is no central sociological authority that could hand down such a diktat. Sociology is a contested discipline, with contested concepts.

Also, it isn't true that if sociologists tend to use certain words in a certain way then this magically annuls more standard meanings.
