You hear atheists say they only care about what's true. I suspect they don't know themselves very well or aren't thinking clearly.
7 year old scared, dying of cancer. Would you tell her she's going to heaven, and she'll be met there by her Nana? *I wouldn't hesitate.*

@PhilosophyExp I would tell her whatever would make her happy, absolutely. But what if (say) she overhears me admitting I lied? Crushing. -
@PhilosophyExp Lying to children perhaps a special case? (Along with the mentally impaired/inebriated.) But it's an interesting question!
