The problem with the term "cultural Marxism" is it tends to be invoked to pick out ideologies that bear no relation to actual Marxism.
@deadalnix Why do you think that building the "new man" is at the core of Marxism?

@PhilosophyExp Marx also says that previous philosophers limited themselves to understanding the worlds, and think it is time to change it. -
@deadalnix But what Marx? Do you mean pre-1853 humanistic Marxism? Or the later Marx of Das Kapital, etc? -
@PhilosophyExp He connect the dots on the necessity of a new man much before capital. 2/2 -
@PhilosophyExp Back to the point, I think cultural marxism refers more to social materialism than the whole marxist worldview. -
@PhilosophyExp But maybe I see too much into it, and it is simply a way to paint tumblrites as commies with a broad brush. -
@deadalnix Marxism isn't Marxism without reference to the primacy of productive relations (the economic base) and class struggle. -
@PhilosophyExp You can forget the productive relations with cultural marxism, but the class truggle is there. -
@deadalnix But class struggle isn't there in modern intersectional feminism: its absence is precisely why the Tumblr lot aren't 2nd wavers. - 3 more replies
