@PhilosophyExp Hmm. But less famous runs of the experiment tried direct orders, and that didn't have the same effect. Needed the increments. -
@PhilosophyExp I mean just ordering them to give the large shocks from the start didn't work. Needed to start small and increase. -
@owenphelps Right. So maybe authority only has "purchase" once the subject is already involved in the unfolding situation... -
@PhilosophyExp Perhaps! Either way, all this makes me doubtful of the common reporting of the exps ("people obey orders just because").
