@SIN_Notung least, it's a moral issue that has to be weighed up. It's not a fallacy to think origins can have political/moral significance.

@PhilosophyExp If I understand the genetic fallacy correctly, it's that the reasons for X aren't identical to the reasons for X at origin.

@PhilosophyExp ... if the origin has some significance then that's a separate argument, but the simple genetic point fails on its own.
