@PhilosophyExp Then once there's enough liberals involved (whatever 'enough' is) then IMO it's ok to join without worrying about EDL origin.
@SIN_Notung least, it's a moral issue that has to be weighed up. It's not a fallacy to think origins can have political/moral significance.

@PhilosophyExp If I understand the genetic fallacy correctly, it's that the reasons for X aren't identical to the reasons for X at origin. -
