I think good art is necessarily blind to whether or not it offends or disappoints people.
@SIN_Notung So you're saying good art can't be deliberately offensive? Seems a stretch...

-
@PhilosophyExp yeah true- hard to express coherently what I mean. I suppose I mean not altered by how one thinks it will be received. -
@SIN_Notung Well, that really can't be true! Lot of great music and art was produced for patrons, etc., so reception must have been in mind. -
@PhilosophyExp I might be naive, but part of me hopes that Bach wasn't concealing something better up his sleeve! -
@SIN_Notung Sure, not better, but maybe something different. Didn't Bach write celebratory music for court events, etc? -
@PhilosophyExp yes but I don't mean it can't be purposeful or inspired. More like: ... -
@PhilosophyExp "I would write a B major chord but they may not like that. So I'll write a G major chord instead." Sort of like that! -
@SIN_Notung I have to go running, so I'll stop annoying you now! :) -
@PhilosophyExp hehe - thanks for the feedback! Enjoy your running, Socrates ;)
