Haidt, in my opinion, misses the real opposing forces in politics: not liberal vs. conservative, but evidence-based vs. delusional.
@sjzara How would you analyse the difference between say Thatcher's 1983 Conservative Party & Michael Foot's Labour Party in those terms?

@PhilosophyExp In that situation it seemed to me to be the Labour Party that had, to a degree, abandoned evidence. -
@sjzara But not the Tory Party - for example, their rhetoric on immigration? -
@PhilosophyExp I have to admit I don't remember that much of that time in terms of politics, apart from a scary political mood in the 70s
