@PhilosophyExp what else would they be? They treat the products and trappings of science with reverence and genuflection, just like religion -
@mloxton But isn't scientism the view that the only useful way of understanding & approaching the world is empirical, reductive, etc? -

@alan_sussman when religion takes on a religious aura, it is still just religion. When science takes it on, it also becomes just religion
