Question from a math neophite. How do the square brackets work in this formula? http://bit.ly/152daOo (I can't get the .222 result out!)

@PhilosophyExp I think the calculation is wrong. It's the right formula for the two-sample t-test, but the answer is 0.699 for values given.
@nja Thanks. Appreciated. I also got 0.69. I spent a lot of yesterday puzzled because a textbook & then that link messed up calculations.

@PhilosophyExp If you put the raw data through the excel TTEST function you get 0.22 - but that's the p-value not the t-value. -
