@JPPMarsh That's a slightly different point. Non-philosophers can do philosophy. I'd argue what I do is not misdescribed as philosophy.

@JPPMarsh If you wanted to argue that de Botton was doing bad philosophy, I'd be more sympathetic. I think that might be accurate.

@PhilosophyExp I can't argue that, as I don't think he's doing philosophy at all. There is an absence of critical thought in his work.

@PhilosophyExp question, in their process of reasoning. There is an absence of a question in Botton's work. It's just generic self help.
