.@JimMacDonaldMMA To my (European) ears, the word "retarded" sounds awful - much worse than "cunt", for example. I'd never use it.
@JimMacDonaldMMA @JeanKazez I came to dislike any epithet that functioned to turn these fabulous personalities into a homogeneous lump. 2/2

@PhilosophyExp@jimmacdonaldmma Very common insult when I was a kid. Also: spaz (as in spastic). I chastise kids for it--yes, thoughtless. -
@JeanKazez@jimmacdonaldmma "Spastic" was (is?) used in the UK, but I've seen even quite young people telling others off for using it. -
@PhilosophyExp@JeanKazez I think "spastic" was at its height in the 80s. Carrier's word of choice is the favoured pejorative these days. -
@JimMacDonaldMMA@philosophyexp Carrier is a jerk (pc word, I think), but A+ isn't his anyway. Think Jen McC is better spokesperson for it. -
@JeanKazez@JimMacDonaldMMA I'm betting that Jen, Greta, etc., aren't best pleased about the way Carrier has been carrying on. -
@PhilosophyExp@jimmacdonaldmma No--it's Jen McC's, and his contribution isn't helpful--way too (dare I say) testosterone-fueled. 1/2 -
@JeanKazez@philosophyexp@jimmacdonaldmma p.s. That wasn't a gendered insult. We all have testosterone. Bye all… 2/2 - 1 more reply
