You took a technical concept originating in medical jurisprudence and ethics, and you asked people to apply it to a foreign domain where its meaning would be anything but clear. So it’s not surprising if you get answers that are all over the map when people try to understand.

I still find it surprising so many people think there's informed consent.

I was one of those who answered that there was informed consent. On second thought maybe I'd just say it's a meaningless question so you can't answer. It's not like, "Yup, definitely informed consent." It's like, "What the hell does he even mean? OK, I'll map it this way..."
