Are you sure you've got the right bit (with the thin sections to allow it to be snapped out) under the kidney-shaped hole? If so, try hammering at it with the blunt end of the knife. Sometimes the "thin" bits of plastic are still pretty thick.

I've beaten the bit under the kidney-shaped hole to within an inch of its life, but it's staying put.
I'm blaming a manufacturing fault! -
Can you SEE the impressed lines intended to allow the plastic to snap?

I think you need to push though the kidney shaped hole. You can then rotate the lid for the different pouring options.

Well that's what I thought. But it doesn't seem to want to give way. I've been shoving a knife down at it. Maybe it's faulty!
