As a 'sex/gender expert' I will believe that if my female child exhibits behaviour that is coded masculine then she is a boy. Because as a 'sex/gender expert' I think that socially constructed patriarchal norms determine biology.https://twitter.com/Literature_Lady/status/1170034994288500748 …

As a mother, I support my daughter in whatever sexual orientation and gender she ends up being. If she discovers that she identifies more with men and masculine norms, I will happily embrace my son. Trans teens are among the highest suicide rates in adolescents. Guess why?

It's absolutely extraordinary that educated people who genuinely believe themselves to be feminists could think that what determines whether a person is a man or woman is whether they embrace the stereotypical norms of a patriarchal system.

I know it's not good form for a man to explain feminism to a woman - it looks terrible, I know - but this stuff is just such bollox. (You know all this, I realise. Just venting.)

It's bonkers. If you cash out their position it's going to turn out they think you can identify out of oppression. If gender is a free for all, just a matter of how you identify, then there's no systemic sex-based oppression. Except IT WON'T BLOODY WORK. (Still venting!) 😂

We've asked them this a million times as well. Because the logical endpoint of this argument is that its women's fault for being raped because they did not identify as not-women. Except as you say, it's bullshit. Because - who knew? - patriarchal gender operates on SEXED bodies

It's hopeless. There's a PhD thesis to be written on how we got to this point. It has something to do with the fact that American progressives can't throw off their neoliberal inheritance.

It is a "wave" of Social Gender Politics that is causing harm to children and young adults. Basically conflating sex with gender stereotypes.

It's crazy town. It's almost like they've chosen the path that trans affirmation is the most important thing, so they go out and start changing the pieces to make it work, without any logic or objectivity. They don't use definitions that make sense and just ignore any concerns.
